據《泰晤士報》報導，首次有英國國會議員被香港拒絕入境。同時間，英國商業及貿易部國務大臣艾禮遜（Douglas Alexander）卻仍在中國及香港招商。
「對中政策跨國議會聯盟」創辦人裴倫德（Luke de Pulford）表示，未能確認是否因該議員屬聯盟成員而被拒入境，但批評香港此舉形同公開侮辱英國。
「如果英國任由事件發酵而沒有後果，老實說，我們是自作自受。」
